chapter-11

Introduction

Since its development in 2015, the Culturo-Techno-Contextual Approach (CTCA) has grown from a novel idea into a well-researched teaching method with a strong evidence base. Teachers and researchers across Africa and beyond have tested this approach in real classrooms, asking a simple but important question: does it actually work? This chapter brings together the findings from these studies, showing how CTCA has helped students learn difficult concepts in subjects such as biology, chemistry, physics, computer studies, public administration, and entrepreneurship. The evidence presented here comes from many years of careful research, including doctoral theses, published journal articles, and conference papers. For teachers who are thinking about using CTCA in their own classrooms, this chapter offers a clear picture of what the research says. The studies show not only that CTCA improves student achievement, but also that it reduces anxiety, helps students remember what they have learned, and makes learning more enjoyable.
